One of three paintings in a 2018 series, this grand scale painting was created by Tiffani Taylor to depict the ‘sublime’ in nature.  Taylor says, “The large scale helped make the majestic quality of nature palpable… I wanted people to “fall into” the work when viewed.” The sheet music that is incorporated into all three pieces is Debussy’s “Clair de Lune,” which is what Taylor often listens to while painting. Different color palettes can be found in each painting to evoke contrasting moods and energy of the marsh at dusk.

• “Punch Ablaze and Glorious…” depicts a colorful Savannah Marsh Sunset. This is exactly what is portrayed in Taylor’s creation through the use of so many vibrant colors on her extensive palette. Everything from this moment as it was felt when Taylor first saw it:  The colors of the sunset reflective onto the water and grass of the marsh is full of life. The expressionistic brushwork with dynamic diagonals, and the brightness of the hues flowing throughout depict the energy and beauty of the moment Taylor is describing with her paint brush.
